Kokkikartano enters the Energy Efficiency Agreement again for the upcoming period

Snellmanin Kokkikartano is one of the first companies to join the energy efficiency agreement for the next period – 2026-2035. The agreement means that we are committed to continuing to improve our energy efficiency until the end of 2035.
– We were already involved in the previous periods of the Energy Efficiency Agreement, so it felt natural to continue. We want to continuously improve the energy efficiency of our operations, and we have been successful in achieving our goals, says Klaus Holma, Property Manager at Snellmanin Kokkikartano.
Kokkikartano has a long history of working with energy efficiency. The agreement has been a good support for the long-term development of energy efficiency in our operations, and we have been able to actively monitor the achievement of the targets. It has helped us to reduce energy costs and emissions and makes the work a little more visible.
What is Energy Efficiency Agreement?
The Energy Efficiency Agreement is an agreement between the government and sectors that guides industry, the energy and service sectors, the property sector, and the public sector towards more efficient energy use with voluntary measures. Companies join the Energy Efficiency Agreement by signing an accession document for their respective sector-specific action plan and committing to improving energy efficiency according to the specified measures and targets. Finnish food industry has its own program under the agreement, coordinated by the Finnish Food and Drink Industries’ Federation (Elintarvikeliitto, ETL). This is the fourth successive agreement period.
Over the decades, energy efficiency agreements have become an established part of Finnish energy policy. They play an important role in Finland’s climate and energy strategy and support Finland’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035. A wide range of central government units and different sectors are committed to energy efficiency agreements.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Ministry of the Environment, the Energy Authority, and industry associations such as the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), the Finnish Food and Drink Industries’ Federation (ETL), the Finnish Energy Industries, the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, the Finnish Forest Industries Federation, the Technology Industries of Finland, the Finnish Commerce Federation, the Finnish Hospitality Association (MaRa), and the Finnish Central Organisation for Motor Trades and Repairs, Kiinteistönomistajat ja rakennuttajat Rakli, Kuntaliitto and Maakuntien tilakeskus are all committed to the agreement.
